3 Mistakes You Should Avoid When Deciding Which Builders Quote to Accept.

Bit of a negative-sounding headline, isn't it. Why not instead "3 Tips for Getting the Perfect Price for your Dream Loft Conversion"?

My advice to customers has always been to exercise common-sense and to ensure they follow three golden rules when choosing which builders quote to accept. Well, my customers get it mostly right when choosing, yet my experience is that this has been achieved more by luck than judgement: often I discover that they've left out one or more of my three golden rules - three basic tests to establish if the builder is the best choice for them and their particular loft conversion project. This has left them unnecessarily exposed to potential problems with the builder and with financial issues caused by the way the work was priced. Hence, rather than a pink-fluffy-sounding headline to lull you into a false sense of security, I've gone for the direct approach with this blog's title.

So if you're thinking of having a loft conversion, or, better still, you're sitting in front of a pile of building quotations and trying to sort the 'wheat from the chaff', read my infographic below.

Click here to see an enlarged portrait version of the infographic; here to see an enlarged landscape version.

Avoid these three mistakes, and give yourself a flying start for finding the right builder at the right price.
